HE IS READY!!!

"She has come my Lord" The messenger looked terrified as he conveyed the news to his master.

Imara!!! So she has at last arrived. The Fire Dwellers must be celebrating. Their thousand year wait had came to an end at last. Their Princess who would help them conquer the world had arrived.

The news created a stir among those gathered. It was not good news. All assembled knew that. The Sherders began to whisper and shout, within minutes the disciplined gathering had turned into a mob. Many emotions played across their faces. But fear was the prominent in all of them except one. Except his.

"SILENCE" he commanded. At his voice the others died. The court was silent, all of them waiting with anticipation to hear what the Lord had to say about the situation. But they were surprised. He just dismissed them all with a wave of his hand. They had no other option but to leave.

At last the court cleared. "All except him. But he was hidden, no one knew he was there.
"Arian!!!" He heard his name from the lips of the Lord. He was being summoned.

He emerged out of the darkness that he had hidden in. He bowed in front of his Lord, his Master, his Father.
"Its time, son". The Lord was saying. "I think you are ready, at last. Ready to come out. Its time for you to come out. Its time to proclaim you as my son and the Prince. But first, I believe you know what needs to be done??. The Lord looked up at him.
"Yes father, It will be done." He replied dutifully. "Return with her head who do not return at all". The Lord's voice was ruthless.

Arian bowed once again before him before disappearing into the darkness.
Only one thought was running through his head. "Imara, she had to die!!!"

MY HOME: GOD'S OWN COUNTRY

KERALA:

Most people outside India won't even know of this small state in the south-west of India. But for those who live there, it is certainly Gods Own Country.  We have all kinds of people living in harmony with each other in our state. The state is famous for its backwaters, the spicy food, the boat races and its vivid flora and fauna.

All people would be proud of their homes. But let me tell you,if you visit Kerala once you would never forget it.
We have varied and unique art forms like kathakali, mohiniyattam etc..

The history of the state can be traced back to 3000 BC. It was a major spice exporter in ancient times. In fact the Portuguese had first arrived in Kerala and their arrival had led to the later British colonization of the nation.

Kerala is a great tourist destination and millions visit the state every year. The house boats, the mysterious caves and the beautiful hills all draw tourists.

Every one who have visited Kerala would certainly agree that it is certainly " THE GODS OWN COUNTRY".

KOCHI

One place you should never miss out if you ever visit Kerala is Kochi. The emerging metro city is the commercial capital of the state. It also houses the biggest mall in the country. It may not have yet reached the likes of Mumbai and Delhi but it is definitely on the way up there.

The city is named as the QUEEN OF ARABIAN SEA and it is certainly a queen.

Its beautiful, serene and is the perfect place to make a home. You might say I am biased but you haven't seen the city. See it and then you will get my point!!!

I might go far away from you,
But you will always be my home.
No matter how far I go,
I will always come back to you,
Because you are HOME!

MY LIFE AS A FRESHER.

Coming from the strict norms and regulations set by the school, college was certainly a revelation!
Yes more freedom, liberal dress code I expected all this.
But that didn't stop my mouth from hanging wide open after looking around the completely different world that is college.

I was in a new place completely alien to me. I didn't know the language, I didn't know their customs. In short- I was completely lost.
Hostel life: I dreaded it, sharing my personal space with two other people. UNIMAGINABLE!
I hated the rooms, I hated the washrooms, I hated it all and just wanted to leave.
All the people here were so different from me. There were students from all over the country and I felt like the complete odd one out. I am not usually insecure but after seeing the kids here I certainly was!
I hated everything. I had worked really hard to get an admission here and now I HATED IT.
How tragic was that!
Coming from a place were every course other than engineering and medicine was frowned upon, I had struggled a lot to pursue the subject of my choice.I had argued with every single relative and friend for letting me come here. And now I was sitting there wishing that I had taken the easy way out and listened to them.I was pathetic!

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE THING I FEARED MOST!
What if I was not good enough? All the others here seemed to be good at everything. How will I, a girl from a science background suddenly compete with students who have more experience with language related subjects.
I feared I would not be able to cope up with the class-work. I feared that I was not in par with the other kids and I would fall behind. I feared that I was under qualified for the course.
Though I didn't let it show at most times I was miserable, for weeks!

NOW

My first semester is nearly done. I will be going home in less than a week.I know you are wondering if I am still miserable??
Well the answer is yes.But not about the college life. But about what I would do without meeting any of my pals for a whole month.
Are you wondering what brought about this change in attitude??Even I am.
I guess, as time passed, the things that I dreaded and feared became insignificant. The main reason for this was a self realization.I was miserable because I was so adamant to be miserable.
I was putting all my energy into being miserable that I didn't notice the good things that now surrounded me.I hated the idea of sharing rooms. But now I know how much fun it is to have room mates. The late night chats, the random karaoke sessions, watching FRIENDS with our own friends, bunking classes, late night snacks, the random role-plays and laughter. I CAN NEVER FORGET THESE MEMORIES THAT WE CREATE EVERYDAY.

I was afraid I would be the odd one out. THAT WAS A COMPLETELY IRRATIONAL FEAR. One thing that the life here taught me was that all of us are different. Though many of us hide it and live a life of pretensions.
But you know something, its okay to be different. I think its awesome that you all are one of a kind, unique. There is only one person like you in this world and that's you.(Not my words).

And about falling behind in course work.Turns out all of the others were as clueless as I was.
But as time passes we figured it all out, together. We help each other in everything. And believe me in this if you live with friends they would never allow you to fall behind. We have each others back. For anything and everything!
Let it be class work or some mischief or even bunking classes!
" Yeh dosti hum nahi chodenge ".
Having friends so different from you is kind of amazing. We learn something new every single day.

4 months ago I came here as a school graduate from a conservative realm with a closed mind
but now after my 1st semester as a college under-graduate I am going home as new girl with an open mind but still without forgoing what makes me "ME"!!!

This is not an advice or anything but just a few words I would like to say to all my friends who are about to step into college life.
Don't hesitate to pursue your dreams.
There will be obstacles.
I mean there will be a hell lot of them.
But don't let them stop you.
Because beyond them, lies what you have always dreamed for!!!

BELIEVE ME YOU WILL LOVE YOUR COLLEGE LIFE IF YOU DO THIS!!!
I AM SAYING THIS FROM MY EXPERIENCE

SPREAD YOUR WINGS!!!

The sun is out...
The darkness has lightened...
The light is back in your world...
Just open your eyes...
Just open your eyes..
and see the world...
Its time to rise...
Its time to leave your nest baby..........
Its time to spread your wings and fly
Just spread your wings.....
Just fly...
Don't look down...
Don't look back..
Keep your eyes towards the heights..
Just spread your wings and fly my girl....
Just fly.........
The times of sorrow...
Times of despair...
The times of loneliness...
Its lone gone now...
The light is back....
And you need to rise....
And fly to your dreams....
The world is yours.....
Claim it now.
Now is the moment...
Its time to live...
Live your dreams....
Live your life..
Let go the past..
Let go the fears..
Let go of all that baggage..
Because the world is waiting.....
With open arms...
So fly my girl....
Fly to your dreams....
And live them out....
In your own style...

Just spread your wings and fly my girl.....
Because this moment is all that you may have...........

"UNCONDITIONAL" LOVE

I have never been in love.I have read about it,heard about it,i have even seen it. The kind of love you read about in books and see in movies, the so called true love and bonded for life, soul mate stuff etc....So some might ask me how I can preach about love without ever experiencing it?.Frankly,I don't know.Don't get me wrong ,even I have had some crushes in high school, but I can't understand what all this fuss is about.
The only kinds of love that I have experienced is parental love, love of my friends etc..and I don't feel like I am missing anything.Maybe I am still too young for understanding it.
I think the only people who love you unconditionally are your parents. They love you no matter what or who you are.For them you are this precious gift God has sent.I feel so lucky for having them.I feel so lucky that I am their child.Even separated by a thousand miles I feel their love and care. They don't seem far from me.They don't let me miss them.
In the fourteen years of school life,I believe I have made some friends for life.I feel it is better to have a few friends who are really close to you rather than have a large group of friends who don't even know you well.Their will be many friends who laugh along with you,but only a true friend will be their to cry with you.
Seriously, why do you need any other kind of love.Maybe my opinion might change in future but after hearing of all the trouble love cooks up...I end up wondering,is it worth it?..You may say it is....but then why are people getting divorced then?Did the love just expire or something?
What is left then after this so called "true love" ends....a broken heart? This is just my point of view.Maybe one day something might change....who knows. But for now it all seems a bit out of the world.

P.S I Love You --- A Review

Hey friends, this is my first attempt at reviewing .This is a book which really touched my heart. And I am sure you must have heard about it. Wondering if it's your type or not.

Cecilia Ahern shot to fame with her much acclaimed novel 'P.S I Love you' , I Think her fame and popularity is well deserved. Many many words can be used to describe the book but the one which comes to my mind is touching and heart warming.

Holly's journey from a heart broken widow, living on widow's pension, to a successful professional  is beautiful. Gerry's letters to his wife symbolize & glorify that love is immortal & that is not affected by death. Gerry might be dead but he comes back alive to her through his letters. The letters teach her to laugh again, love again & also to learn to live once again.

I am sure that we have all lost loved ones at some point of our life.Even though the book has a tragedy in the backdrop, it doesn't drop into a complete tragic style. It is not a story of heart break rather I would like to think of it as a story of friendship, love and of course surviving. It also has comic elements which will make you laugh a lot.Holly's fortieth birthday bash is a fine example of this.

The books also shows the power of friendship. The kind of friendship that helps us to walk through even the strongest thorns.

As you may already know this book has already been made into a film of the same name. The movie was a hit.

This book  might not be in the same league as the classics. But it is a very heart touching tale . And for an author's first novel it's pretty amazing. I would suggest to give his book a try. I believe it won't be a waste of time.

And here is the link to my friends review blog. This is my thanks to her for pushing me into blogging.
